Discovering Family

Exploring distant family? Looking to see how far back the family lines go?  If there are any "notable" ancestors?  Or, just curious about our Family Tree?  Welcome!

This website is mainly a simple compilation of Family Group Pages containing:

  • Names of a Husband and Wife (or unmarried couple)

  • Brief biography, including other marriages

  • Link to their parents' Family Group Page

  • List of children with dates, if available

  • Link to their children's Family Group Page

No living people are listed - you will need to go up a generation (or two) to your closest deceased ancestors to start your search.  Don't know who that is?  Send me a message and we can work together to get you started.

Enjoy brief biographies of Featured Ancestors on a bi-weekly basis!  They are highlighted to the left on this Home Page and their biography is provided in the Blog Section.  Constructive comments are encouraged, be kind! 😊

This website provides bare bones data to help you determine if you are in the right tree.  I maintain trees in Ancestry and MyHeritage; however, I want to provide free access for fellow researchers who might not have the same memberships.  Website Hosting gets expensive when you add in a lot of images, so there are a limited number of images here.  However, I do have quite a number of documents (including copies of originals or transcriptions) and photos - I'm happy to share!  I am also open to learn about any corrections needed.  Send a message!  â€‹

Also, this Website Hosting service is significantly easier to use than the previous service I was using.   Changing services requires I start over with adding family lines to the website.  I will be adding family lines on a much more regular basis.  Please send a message if there is a line you would like me to prioritize.

Join us in celebrating the rich tapestry of our family history.

My Genealogy Journey

Over 50 Years of Cumulative Research

My name is Daphne, and my 20+ years of research started with 4 pages of hand-written notes from a telephone conversation with my maternal grandmother, Violet.  She and my grandfather had spent their decades of retirement traveling to court houses, libraries, etc. across the country.  She sat at countless microfilm machines and walked numerous library stacks seeking information, resulting in many file boxes worth of documents over her 30+ research years.  She talked regularly with distant cousins and was driven to find answers to family history questions.  She also gathered many documents to prove her 5th great-grandfather had served America during the Revolutionary War.  Also, to prove her 9th great-grandparents (and their son, her 8th great-grandfather) had arrived in America aboard the Mayflower.  About 15 years ago, she handed her research to me.

On-Going Research

Genealogy research doesn't really ever end.  While it isn't a hobby enjoyed by everyone, I thoroughly love the research!  I do look forward to meeting fellow researchers, or curious cousins, of our family lines.  It is my hope that this website will help you find a connection within our family.  Please send me a message and we can work together.
